How you'll study

Save vocabulary as you read

Save words from dictionary entries and articles, or save whole example sentences. Use the Chrome or Firefox extension to save vocabulary from other websites.

Remember words with Review

Review makes flashcards from your saved vocabulary and schedules them based on your answers. Practise reading, listening, writing and pronunciation without making the cards yourself.

Learn to write characters and use grammar with guided Exercises. Finish an Exercise to add its cards to Review for further practice.

Your vocabulary stays yours

The articles, dictionary, example sentences, vocabulary Lists and tools are free. You can always export your saved words as CSV or TSV.

After Pro ends, you keep your saved vocabulary. You can still read, filter and export it. If you’ve saved 300 words or more, resubscribe or reduce your saved words below that limit before adding more.

Questions about Pro

Can I try it first?

Yes. Your first subscription includes 7 days free. A card is required. You’ll get an email reminder three days before the trial ends. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged.

How do refunds work?

Reply to any Chinese Boost email or write to nihao@chineseboost.com for a refund. Monthly subscribers can get the current billing month’s payment back. Yearly subscribers can get a refund for unused days. Your subscription ends when the refund is made.

On either plan, you can get a full refund within your country’s legal cancellation period. The terms have the details.

How do I cancel?

Choose “Manage billing” on your account page and cancel through Stripe. You keep Pro until your paid period ends.

Is tax included?

Yes. The $8 monthly and $80 yearly prices include tax.

Will the price go up?

Your price stays at $8 a month or $80 a year while your subscription continues, even if the price for new subscribers rises.

Can I use it with Anki?

Yes. Export your saved vocabulary to Anki for free, or study here with automatically generated flashcards. Pro removes daily study limits and lets you import files from other apps.

Is it for beginners?

Yes. A free account holds 300 words, enough for HSK 1. Choose Pro when you want to save more vocabulary or study more each day. You can also study words beyond the HSK syllabus.

Who makes Chinese Boost?

Chinese Boost is an independent site, built and checked by hand. Subscriptions pay for hosting, recordings and new features.
